Established in 2002, Limetown was built on top of the limestone caves in White County, Tennesee. The settlement was owned by a private company, Realore, which in turn was owned by one R.B. Villard. Run by the lead researcher, Dr. Oscar Totem, the town was to house over 1,000 researchers and their families. It is generally unclear what they were researching, or why Limetown even existed. Some would speculate that it had to with understanding the human brain.

After researching the town, Terry Hilkins, a Tennessee reporter, described the place as "...Mayberry, except it was run by some of the smartest people on the planet."

However, the entire town was abandoned and its citizens vanished in a mass event that, in time, became known as The Panic.

Citizens[]

The community of Limetown was made up of scientists and their families, all of them brought together to work at Limetown on a secret project under the command of a secretive billionaire, Mr. R.B. Villard. Mr. Villard was not at the compound when everyone disappeared, but after a drawn-out Congressional hearing, he too vanished from public and is not seen again.

The Panic[]

February 8, 2004, 327 men, women, and children disappeared from Limetown. Many of the survivors of The Panic had stayed silent and had even gone into hiding until Lia Haddock's investigation into Limetown, The Panic and the whereabouts of those missing.
